  • Children's lawyer/counsel

Hi there. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with their children seeing a children's lawyer and/or counsel. It is something the ex is asking for but there are no reasons as to why. The child, 10 1/2, is doing wonderfully and is not affected by any conflict that occurs, if it occurs, between the parents. Not once has the ex stated what any parenting issues are aside from stating 'broad parenting issues'. How terribly upsetting would this be for a child? On the one hand perhaps it would favour the one parent who continually gets verbally bashed and harassed and perhaps quiet the other parent who thinks they are in complete control and is continually trying to exert this control. I am inclined to think that the line of questioning the child would endure could very well upset them and do harm - regardless of the outcome. If a child is doing so well, is not affected by conflict then why get them involved in such silliness?

There is a wealth of information on this board about the Office of the Children's Lawyer. Do a search and you will find hours of reading.
