  • (PLD) Post Living Diferential for Military personel

    Good Day All,

Question being in the military we get moved around alot at times we get posted to a city that has a high cost of living, that being said can the other side go after this extra benefit that we received call PLD.

As this PLD would add another $17,820.00 to my salary and in the end it will appear on my T4's.

So my question is: Can the other side use this extra benefit to calculate CS/SS in the future?? I did the calculations and it would add quite a bit to the monthly CS/SS.

Does anyone have knowledge on this or some insight.

    Thanks

    Cheers

I posted this on another thread. It is a recent decision from the Alberta Court of Appeal.

    Calver v Calver, 2014 ABCA 63 (CanLII), <http://canlii.ca/t/g332x

Your ex can certainly try but with the above new Court of Appeal decision I would think it unlikely.

Seems like the Department of Defence has a very large budget for relocations these days:
