I have been separated from a common law relationship for about a year now and we have a son together. I know he has to keep our son on his benefit plan but does he have to keep me on it for 2 years or until he meets someone whichever comes first? I'm still on his policy but he won't sign papers for me to claim some medical expenses.:

I don't know about his plan but on my plan, the moment my ex-husband and I did not live in the same house and considered ourselves separated, I was no longer eleigible to claim him on my benefits. So I doubt he even has the choice to keep you on the plan.
