  • Ending child support

I have a 16 year old daughter from a previous relationship. The father has been paying support through FRO. She is no longer in school. She has been kicked out and not allowed back. She will have to finish her high school education through adult education. My question is can he end his child support payments as she is not in school.

If she is taking these courses via distance education, then no CS should not stop.
As long as you can demonstrate that she is still studying and on a full course load bases, she is entitled to support until she ceases formal education. If she is only studying part time or taking a reduced course load, then there may be a reduction in the support with the thinking that she can help support herself with part time employment.
