So like many of you here I had to dispute the way Revenue Canada treats the parent who " pays child support with the offset method ".
I had to challenge 2 years worth of child tax credits because I pay a small amount of support even though we have equal 50 / 50 custody .
After months of RC reviewing my claims, they have told me "sorry no dice" and suggested I go to tax court . The young man that I spoke to on the phone sounded like it was his first day on the job and couldn't wait to get off the phone .
In any event, has anyone gone through this process and can shed some light as to what I can expect next .
I have read previously closed threads , but anything more recent would definitely help .
