Pension Equalization

Just a quick question....when only dealing with Pension Equalizations.....

Who decides how it is equalized? If my ex owes 20,000 for the equalization...who determines whether it is transferred (if it is allowed) or if I would prefer to have the cash?

I think you would both have to agree on that as well. If she doesn't have the cash, you'd have to accept the pension transfer, if that's all that is left. Is there another approximately equal asset you could take instead, like a car?

She has access to cash, for sure....I'm still waiting on her valuation to be done....so I'll just have to wait and see.....
