  • Yet another question.....

So my common law hubby has heard back from his lawyer in regards to the seperation proposal they came up with for his ex...

She has said she doesn't want a lawyer..she doesn't want to be bothered with the hassel.. so assuming he serves her with the papers what happens from there? If she still doesn't retain a lawyer does it all go through uncontested..or will we have to phyically show up in court..or..what? They have spoken about the agreement and she seems fine with all the custody and support arrangements..

    So what will happen next...?

I would have her sign the papers, (including having them witnessed) and returned to your lawyer. If you want them turned into a court order, your lawyer can do this for you. No need to every step in a courtroom.

Thats good news. Its bad enough these things seem to take so long, the idea of it taking any longer than necessary is a painfull one
