Does anyone know of a case law (Alberta) dealing with the date of valuation of property division.
The other lawyer is trying to claim that both the debt of the other party and interest should be calculated from the date of trial. And the value of the house should be from that date too.
Otherwise, I agree to this they feel that the value of both should be set to date of separation (2 years ago!).
I would be loosing out on approximately $40,000 in equity if I agree to this.
Does anyone have any information on this??????
Please help!!!!
