Post Lawyer for Divorce?

Hello. I've been separated for quite a long time now and have decided I should get divorced so that I can move on. My ex and I have a legal separation agreement, outlining custody, etc. All is good.

Should we apply for a joint or simple divorce? Should I do this through my lawyer or do the required work myself to save money?

I'm in Thunder Bay, Ontario so not even sure which court I should be visiting to start the process?

My husband filed a joint divorce application with his ex wife. It was fairly easy and straight forward. Neither of them used a lawyer since they already had a separation agreement in place. $500 and a 2-3 months later they were legally divorced.
