    Hello:
I'm a little unclear as to the procedures relating to child custody. I have a signed separation agreement that was prepared by my ex-wife's lawyer. It was finalized by both parties. My question is does that agreement that addresses child support and access get filed with the Ontario Family court? How do I go about amending it? Can I file that form with the courts myself or do I need to get a lawyer to represent me? Can anyone recommend a good lawyer in Ottawa? Thanks.

You don't have to file the agreement with the court but you can if you want to. People do this especially if they want the FRO involved to enforce support.
