One thing I've learned from watching all the media, and particularily the local frenzy, is NEVER get caught smoking crack. If you are in the public eye.

Probably best just to never smoke crack.

    LOL.

I can't help myself, having had my own struggles, to feel bad for this guy. Such a public spectacle. At least my fall from grace was anonymous/private.

In Alberta we had a pretty colorful Premier - Ralph Klein.

He turned out to be the best Premier Alberta ever had in my opinion. Yes it was embarrassing sometimes when he opened his mouth to speak but he did do excellent things for the Province that put it where it is today.

From what I have heard, Ford has done a good job managing the City. Didn't he just get some major funding for the subway expansion?

You have been reading Ford's self-promotion..

Ford didn't "get" anything. The transit funding has been in negotiation for years, long before Ford was elected. When Ford first took over as Mayor, he arbitrarily cancelled a signed provincial funding contract, because he didn't like it.

He tried to push a subway extention that would be financed by business investment instead. Except it turned out that no business wanted to finance it. So Toronto then had no transit funding. Ford refused any call to pay for a subway with taxes - which is how Toronto has funded subways for about 100 years.

Council bypassed Ford and reinstated the provincial funding. Ford and his supporters called them "backstabbers."

Negotiations have been ongoing between the province, the regional transit authority Metrolinx, and the city's TTC, as well as council. The idea that Ford "got" any funding is more than absurd, but he likes to say things like this because most people only read the headlines.

Ford likes to protray himself as a one-man band who does everything himself.

              I stand corrected.

Very interesting that Council bypassed Ford and reinstated funding.

                LMHO!!!

Ford and sex! Who would've thought... especially looking at him. Sex symbol, what the heck...

What is the most disgusting about Ford is that he is in complete denial but I guess it is expected from this narcissist and a bully.

I wonder if he'll be gone on one week or so.

Just had a thought...Ford could redeem himself by going to Tacloban and helping out in all the ways that he could. Tacloban will be in the news for quite awhile, and Ford would get some good press for a long time.

Ford would probably find it easier to lose weight in Tacloban, and possibly stop drinking and drugs. Tacloban would probably be cheaper than rehab. All this, and likely becoming a local, even international, hero.

I think he is still hoping that the whole thing will go away by itself somehow.

His behaviour after the fact has been quite telling. It might be said that he is currently displaying typical abusive/addictive traits:

Screw up, apologize, screw up, apologise. Then he tries to manipulate things by appearing to look quite perplexed as to why everyone is making such a big deal over everything.

In 2008 his wife reported him to police regarding a domestic altercation. Somehow the charges were dropped. Hmmm...wonder why.

I'm also tired of Ford and wish he would go away...not only figuratively but literally.

                          Every day, it's something new.

The guy should lay low for awhile.
                          Train wreck....

                          It's funny.
I guy who used to come around here had a name that always made me think of a man of Mr. Fords carriage. Both were bombastic and unapologetic. Kinda spooky...

He reminds me of my to be ex. Not that he has his physical stature or is addicted. You expressed it perfectly, WO.."bombastic and unapologetic".

And then the latest episode where he "accidently" pushed a female councillor yesterday...scarey.

IMO, Rob Ford was the wrong guy doing the right job.

Him and his brother (who isn't quite as bad) don't know how to do anything but be bull-headed. At first, Rob had some sympathy from the public. The media were tearing into his personal life like no other. But now, with how he constantly tries to bull through scrums and his recent antics. Although, I bet the media are advised to limit his progress. It makes great press if he should happen to injure someone in the mean time. Plus, it continues to show him as the villain.

I get the feeling the media won't be happy until they cause him to have a heart attack or something.

Ford has always had his detractors. Those of the left-wing spend-thrifts like Vaughan and other. But now he is losing his support base. I don't live in TO, but I would've voted for him the first time. Not any more.

IMO, TO also needs to clean house of the vast majority of the current council. They aren't helping the process. It seems more like band wagon jumping. That said, I say the same thing about Hamilton, which is essentially socialist hell...
