Lawyer emphasized to me the importance of careful preparation of a budget at the start of our divorce. This little document (budget) has been examined yearly and I am, yet again, thankful for the excellent legal advice I received back in 2009 from my lawyer.
In an old post someone wrote the above. Why is this budget important going forward? I know it has something to do with spousal support. Why is it done yearly?

IMO,is the money you will be spending to get what you are trying to get, worth it in the end? meaning if you have spent $35,000 to get $50,000 , is it worth for you to litigiate for another year and spend another $15,000 to get that $50,000 ? Meaning you spent $50,000 to get $50,000 with no guarantee that you will cover you entire costs.
