  • settlement conference- when?

We just had our case conference and it didnt go well. So wondering when we can start our settlement conference?

Did you not get a date at that conference? Were there any instructions from the judge (ie disclosure or updates)?

You can go to the trial coordinators office and get a new date.

All the judge said was, "parties are to schedule a settlement conference as pertinent to rule 39"

Who is the moving party? You? Do you have a lawyer? If yes and no, go to the courthouse and get a date from the coordinators office.

Normally there isn’t. If you were ordered to comply with conditions then you would schedule it for AFTER that time. Most courts are backlogged anyway so it won’t be quick.

You can serve an offer to settle at any time. Best to do it earlier rather than later.
