  • Denied Access

I am divorced and as part of that had a separation agreement that defined access (joint custody) every other weekend.

She is now contesting our spousal amounts in the agreement and has denied access as part of the negociating tactics.

I am in discussion with my lawyer to get a court order to regain access.

Any other suggestions on what I should be doing?

That is not a negotiating tactic, that is child cruelty (to deny them one parent). Sorry, I have no advice for you as there are no authorities to help NCP's when the CP's deny them access. Will a court order work if the original agreement didn't? I sure hope so for your and the children's sake.

Make sure you keep records of all phone calls, attemps to contact your children and all the ways she denied access. It may back fire on her if you decide to go for shared custody in the future.
