  • Does ex income amount impact payors amount (child support)

O.k just a quick question about something I am confused about. Does the amount of money that the ex make impact the amount the payor (my husband) pays in child support. I ask cause we believe she makes a SIGNIFICANT amount more then him. Like ALOT MORE!..just wondering..not trying to get out of support but wondering if it makes a difference.

No, if he is the one paying child support then her income is irrelevant. It is his obligation to contribute to the support of the child regardless of how much she makes.

      Blink is right...

Even if Mom makes a GAZILLION dollars a year, and Dad makes SQUAT... Dad still has to pay child support based on his income... (unless he has at least 40% physical custody).

It is his child and he has to pay to help support it.
