  • Certificate against title

Has anyone ever done a certificate of pending litigation on the title of property?

My partners ex owes him a second installment for equalization (he agreed so the kids wouldn't have to move, thinking she would pay him) and his lawyer said she probably wont pay. The lawyer recommended this for the future so it would be paid out if the house was sold but said it would be pricey through a real estate lawyer. I was wondering if it could be done without the lawyer for less money.

He's got six months before its due so its not urgent.

Yes I believe you most certainly can do this without a lawyer.
