How will they figure his child support

I am just curious about something. When they decide how much child support my ex will pay, will they consider his debts? He makes very good money. But he also has himself very much in debt. He has an expensive truck he bought last year, he got a lift and tires for a truck on credit, has a four-wheeler, house, etc.

In most places, child support is just based on income. It may be possible to ask for a reduced amount of child support on the grounds that you have an unusually heavy debt load. But in Ontario at least, it's very hard to succeed at that and the debts need to be connected to the marriage.
