Self represented litigants help
Hi,
I would like to hear from self represented litigants - I am a self-rep myself. Are there any self-rep mutual help groups apart from this forum ? I am aware of this https://representingyourselfcanada.com/ which is of some use. There's also http://www.limitedscoperetainers.ca/and a directory of lawyers, started by the LSO - https://www.familylawlss.ca/ There's also justice net etc., There's one limitation - most of these services cover only fairly straightforward issues. These resources are not of much help in advanced issues like appeals, injunctions, cross-appeals, pre-rogative writs etc., If anybody knows of resources/lawyers who can help with appeals, injunctions, writs etc., I would like to hear as well. Thanks |
Most of the information on this forum is searchable by key words. Depending on your case you may want to search that like “appeal” or “child support” etc.
If you shared a bit more on your case and area, people may be able to share names of lawyers. |
Thanks for your quick reply, rockscan - yes i did do that search.
Specifically, I am looking for assistance in drafting and reviewing an factum for an appeal. Identifying "palpable" errors of law, misapprehension of evidence, leveraging and applying sections of the FLA, FLR, CJA, RCP, doctrines and jurisprudence, binding precedents etc., and overall ensuring that the "standard of review" for an appeal are met/exceeded. Thanks |
I haven’t heard of any appeals going forward from anyone on this forum. You may need to do a search on canlii of appeals in your area and call one of those lawyers.

Thanks.
I would like to know if anybody has worked with lawyers with appeal experience. References welcome... thx |
