  • I am alone- no one is on my side - i need all the help

I am a young pakistany girl who was forced into marriage by my parents. I was born in canada but I am muslim. My parents forced me to marry this random guy from Pakistan which i didnt want to do but i had no choice. Long story short his appeal got rejected and now its my turn for the appeal date ..which i want to refuse I do not want to attend it anymore so i am canceling the appeal so he cannot come here anymore!

    My questions are:

I have not seen my so called "husband" for 1.5 years..and I want a divorce. He lives in Pakistan and I live in Ontario, Canada. Does that 1.5 years count as "seperation"?

How do I apply for divorce if he lives in a different country?

What if he does not accept my divorce, what happens? I want to marry my bf that I have found in Canada!!

How long will it take me to divorce him? Please let me know any other information that will benefit me.

    THank you everyone!

first off, you are not alone. You found this site and the people on here are very helpful. Let me say that I am sorry you were forced into an arranged marriage. I think cancelling the appeal is the first step in going forward. I take it he was refused entry into this country?? I am sure someone on this site with more knowledge then me can steer you through this so you will be free to be with the man that you chose and not one that you were forced to be with. How do your parents feel about you wanting out of the marriage? How old are you and how long have you been married? Did you ever live together as husband and wife?

Keep strong and you will get through this.
