Take the Legal Advice!!! Thats why these lawyers get paid the big bucks Your going to come off as arrogant to the Judge when you try to explain why you didnt do it. "Your Honour, my research on Google and on a Divorce Forum has more value you than the court appointed OCL".

If I were in your shoes, I would be doing everything in my power to right this wrong including doing the re-conciliation counselling.

      is re-conciliation counselling a legal tactic ?

Counseling is never a bad idea if it is done right and with a neutral party. You could look at several practitioners who specialize in re-integration therapy and choose one you both can agree on. This prevents her from finding one “to side with her” and allows you both to participate. Plus if the practitioner makes recommendations that mom won’t follow, it demonstrates an unwillingness on her part to fix the problem.

Agreeing to counseling doesn’t mean you are giving up on 50/50 (and you should continue to seek that) it shows you are willing to do anything to see your kids.

Re-integration counseling, when done right, does have a success rate but it does so with the cooperation of all parties.

I think you should do it and see where it gets you. Even if the therapy doesn’t work, there will be a reason why and the practitioner will need to do a report. That report could help you in the long run. And best case scenario is that it works and your kids are re-integrated to your life.

ETA dont believe everything on the internet. Not all positive stories are newsworthy resulting in stuff online.
