  • just needing some quickie advice on a 14C form

just going through the process of a motion/case conference.

unrepresented, and have cut through majority of the forms without much trouble so far.

i am the respondent, and was served (via email) a Form 14C (confirmation) of a pending court date which is this week.

However, do i return a 14c of my own to the Applicant ?

not sure if we both have to file the 14C..

anyone have some quick ideas !!

also just curious, sorry for the multiple questions here...

but if court date was thursday, and you need to file two days prior (before 2pm)

would that be Monday at 2, or Tuesday at 2pm...

Two days prior, not including the day of.

Google 'form 15c Respondent ' and you will find detailed information. Apologies, I cannot seem to post it from my phone.

for everyone's reference: in case someone searches this.

the court day is included. in my example above, if court was Thursday at 10:00 am, then "two days prior, before 2:00pm) is tuesday at 2.

and also, yes, answering my own question, both parties file a form C confirmation !!

            just fyi

Just curious, what's your source for this? Everything says not including day of and I know myself as well as some others made that mistake and we're not allowed to file or serve without consent.

we have consent. we also can serve via email.

i was served on the tuesday at 10am. (court was thur) so when i enquired with her lawyer he advised of the times. i wont copy/paste his response, but it included the court day.

Sorry... Did you just say you're taking advice from your ex's lawyer?? Because you may find that when you go to file at the court house they refuse to let you. Never take advice from your ex's lawyer!!

i got free advice when i inquired if they served me in the 2 day period,, and the answer i got, was the answer i was looking for.

and i filed my response and affidavit of service the same day (tuesday - when court was thursday.)

maybe they do things different in North bay !!

Confirmations are to be filed by 2:00 p.m. two business days before the date.

                      Date - Confirmation by
                      Monday - Thursday before
                      Tuesday - Friday before
                      Wednesday- Monday before
                      Thursday - Tuesday before
                      Friday - Wednesday before

The filing of the confirmation coincides with the late filing deadline.

Some confusion may arise because late filing in civil matters, but not family, is three days before.
