Hi, I am new to this site and not quite sure where and how to post so I hope this is in the right place. I am a Mother of two teenage boys and have joint custody with their father who I have been divorced from since 2001. The children reside with me and are to have every other weekend with their father. Over the years I have received child support from their father through the FRO on a somewhat regular basis. As of November 2008 I have not received a penny from FRO. My ex has claimed undue hardship and filed for a reduction in child support. Over the last 2 years I have been in and out of the courtroom trying to gain financial disclosure from my ex but he has managed not to provide any info. He is self employed and claimed Bankrupcy in 2009. The judge has finally issued a temporary order detailing that he cannot bring me back to court until he pays a $1000 and provides all nessessary info for his case to go forward. The FRO has taken away his driver's license and his passport, we have been to 2 default hearings and
still he has not paid. He has not seen his kids since December 2009 (his choice) and continually texts them to say that he is coming to visit. I am thankful that he has not picked up the kid's for his visit's as he has no permanent residence and I have been informed by many different sources that there are people looking for him because he has defrauded them. The children have no knowledge of the predicament their father is in and look up to him. I am frightened that if he does pick them up that they could possibly be in harms way. Do I tell them about their father or do I let them find out on their own? I never want to hurt them or destroy their relationship with their father but feel that for safety sake they should know. Any suggestions?
