I was served an unsealed envelope by a Process Server this week.
The envelope was from the "Applicant's" lawyer to me and was marked "Personal & Confidential". It arrived open, i.e., never sealed!
The envelope contained the Applicant's Forms 8, 35.1, 13.1. with highly confidential and sensitive information about me and my minor child.
This is very distressing. Any suggestions on whether to pursue this with the Applicant's lawyer would be appreciated. Thnx.

Disputing a lawyer's bill...I fired my CFL lawyer (shifty billing items, etc.) and after expressing my preference to negotiate a refund with her- as opposed to going through the Assessment Office at the Court- we began, through her law clerk, a drawn out (on her part), but civilized, exchange of e-mails to settle up. Many, many items were slotted for refund... approximately one third of the costs were to be refunded! After dragging her heels for months, she made her "final" offer, but my gut feeling is that there are still more questionable items (e-mail correspondance) posted on the bills. When I requested to have these e-mails forwarded, she stopped contact with me altogether.
I believe I have the right to view all chargeable items... I paid for them! If these charges are legitimate, why wouldn't she forward these e-mails? Any thoughts on coaxing this lawyer to communicate again and settle this matter financially? However, if I can not reestablish communications, I am definitely up to taking her through the Court process ...anybody done this before?
