I don't know, but I have never met a 5 year old that would call a boyfriend "Daddy" or a girlfriend "Mommy" unless they were encouraged to by a parent.
A lot of you are saying how uncommon it is for children as young as 5 or 6 to be in need of a psychiatrist. My daughter is the first I have encountered. I have been referred to a book about how to parent children who have experienced hurt and it says that the first 18 to 36 months of life are of vital importance for healthy emotional development. If children are exposed during this vital period to abuse (in this case she witnessed her father verbally abuse me and completely neglect her) that it can lead to serious problems and affect the formation of a childs personality which will affect them throughout adulthood. I went to my GP because i didn't know where else to turn in regards to her anger and aggression and he put me in touch with a disruptive behavioural specialist. This is where I am at. Judge all you want without a full story people. My daughters situation was a tough one living with her father and leaving him was the best thing I ever did for her and now we are on the road to recovery now that I am equipped with the proper tools to assist her.
