  • Separated against my will

    Hello all,

I find myself separated even though my marriage had no problems other than financial, we were poor and in debt.

My ex unilaterally announced her separation in August along with declairing bankruptcy, emptying our home, moving away, 6 hours away, taking a one year leave of absence from her job, and denying me access to our 6 year old son for 4 months

I have since gotten a 50/50 joint shared custody order with an order that she return with our child. I have gotten the Office of the children's lawyers involved due to the parental alienation syndrome that has occured.

My ex was the sole provider and I was the stay at home parent.

My ex is fighting me on every aspect of the separation and the costs are growing fast.

I found this forum just recently and find it a wealth of information.

    Thanks

Hi Duped and welcome to the forums.

Sorry to hear about your situation!

I would think that your ex's actions would backfire on her pretty quickly.

      I thought that too

Unfortunately, the legal system is broken and there is no fix in sight, everything that has happened so far has been a direct result of my determination for the truth and to get back for my son as much of his life as possible.

I am hoping that the social worker from the office of the children's lawyers will order that my son return to his school of the past 2 years where his friends are but it would seem that they would rather not have him change schools again thios year, he has already done that twice already.

      Thanks for the reply

We all have to work within the system, as unfair as it may seem. I'm happy to hear that you got a 50/50 shared custody agreement and she is moving your son back.

Keep us posted on the help that is offered in your case from the Office of the Children's Lawyer. It would help out some of the other members.

          Thank you

Yes, I got 50/50, nothing yet from the office of the childrens lawyers, they are still in the evaluation stage. I am looking for them to get my son back into his school and some support for me.

          Will keep the info coming.

            Glad you got 50/50 Duped.
The evaluation stage can be long, and painful. But wait it out and it will be worth it (we all hope)
