one year..

yup, Sunday will be one year since I was separated. This has been one hell of a ride, but in the end I think it has been worth it. Today I am a happy person, am enjoying life again, spending time with friends and still being the most awesome mom to my girl. Probably better!

Yeah there are still really horrible days, and the fight for custody is not over. Some days I am so down having to go for a week without seeing my girl, but I make do. I am stronger, smarter and more compassionate than I was and in the end that makes me both a better person, and a better mom.

I want to thank those of you who offered advice, friendship and a new perspective for me. I've tried to pay it forward. No need for anyone else to make the mistakes I did!

Have you been advised as to a completion date? What's was the latest step that you have had?

the last was a visit by lawyer to daycare. I think we still have to have another interview and then disclosure meeting. He said he is still waiting for report from Simcoe CAS.

hmmm - the OCL wants to pick and choose which disclosure it will be relying upon? How about Full and Complete - filed into the CR and Trial Book of evidence.

no, he doesn't have all the reports, hasn't spoken to everyone yet. He's waiting to read the last outstanding report from CAS before he schedules another interview with me.

You are close to the end. I had an interview by myself as did my ex with the social worker and the next stage was the disclosure meeting where the recommendations were tabled. We didn't get the final report for several weeks after that, but once you have the disclosure meeting all cards will be on the table.

Billie, congrats on your official first year on your own! The first year is the toughest, you survived it and have come out much much stronger. ONwards and upwards, right?
