Head lice - eweeee. I don't think I ever went through that one but I've heard it's pretty common. No fun for your kid to go through. Heard the lice shampoo is pretty strong concoction. Must be tempting to shave his/her head. Good luck with that one.

The hair lice thing ... don't you just have to treat it once or twice with the shampoo? Do you have to actually pick out the lice after that??? Isn't there a special lice comb or something ... really fine toothed comb?

You can buy a little electronic gadget for hairy ears and you can get your back waxed. Good friend is bald with a hairy back and he gets waxed. Every man should experience waxing at some time in his life.

I'd delegate the lice picking thing. Make it a game for one of your other kids and offer them a nickle for each lice they pick out.

The poor thing. Daddy better buy her something nice for this ordeal.

Tea tree oil is supposed to be effective too. The health stores have remedies that aren't as harmful in their chemical content. But yes, getting rid of headlice is a huge undertaking.

A pharmacist once told me to spray vinegar on the hair after you do the shampoo. The shampoo kills the living lice, but the vinegar is supposed to make the eggs less sticky so they're easier to pull out.

I put drops of tea tree oil in our laundry and our shampoo. I read it repels them. I don't know if it actually works or not or if it's just something people believe but after I started doing that my daughter didn't get them again.

Teatree is great for cuts, blemishes and even cold sores. Slughead you should also see if there's a spray you can get for your daughters mattress and things like the couch that are fabric. It really is a big job to effectively combat this problem.

Don't let up on the combing either. Do a thorough combing of her hair, section by section for the next few days, on a daily basis.

Lol. No.. Crabs are not the same as headlice. They are a different parasite. You're going to have us all feeling itchy soon.

I use tea tree oil for miscellaneous skin problems like cuts and scrapes; however, it might not be entirely effective against lice. Here's a link that might be helpful:
