  • Do It yourself Variance...

I am wondering how to do a variance application on my own. Here's the run down:

In March I left the company I was working for as they closed the office in my home town, their nearest office to me is 3 hrs away.

I started my own consultancy, but I wont make anywhere near the money I used to make.

My existing lawyer has sent off the Minutes of Settlement based on my current CS amount of $1500/month.. She says I dont have a hope in heck of changing it, and I cant afford to hire her as 1 court day costs the same as my monthly cost of living.

I am nearly bankrupt, the 1000 SS and 1500 CS I pay every month have eaten all of my savings (Of course Legal fees helped too).. I have maxed out my Credit Lines, Credit Cards, bank account..

I have the kids 4 nights and 3.5 days every week.. and I am now running into the situation where I have to borrow money from family to buy groceries, pay my mortgage.

I am worried that soon I will run out of options, and I have no clue what to do. The childrens mother wont consider working more than the 3 days a week she works now..

If something does'nt change.. I am going to have to file for bankruptcy..

Not sure what to do.... Any thoughts?

    These sites helped me
Ministry of the Attorney General - Motions to Change

Self Help Guides for Motion to Change a Final Family Court Order or a Support Agreement — Ontario Court Services

Family Law Rules Forms — Ontario Court Services

You can fill the forms out, print them, get them copied, check with legal aid, and file them. if you wish, you can have duty counsel help as well.

    Hope this helps
