  • Back payments/Extra expenses

I've been in the court system for over two years. Finally got child support and child care ordered. (also dealing with custody and access issues) My lawyer has been sending reciepts for the extra expenses for two years. In my Ex.'s most recent affidavit he claims that he has not recieved any reciepts for the extra expenses, and that he is over paying in child support. He is in fact paying the table amout plus his portion of child care, which he only starting paying late last year. I still would like to ask for back payments.

Is he saying he didn't receive any receipts to avoid paying the back payments? Is is common practice for a lawyer to lie about recieving reciepts? It seems so petty to me.

Please advise. My lawyer has sent the receipts about five times over the past two years to his lawyer!

Scan the receipts and send them as .pdf files to the lawyer's office, daily. In the "Tools" of your email program you can seit it to "Request Read Receipt" wihich will create an annoying pop-up when the email was opened.

Keep mailing the receipts until you get an acknowledgment that they were received. Maybe mail a few more until they ask you to stop.

Your ex will get charged about 10 minutes for each email the lawyer reads. 6 emails will cost him what, $400 bucks?

HAHAHAHAH! That's great I love it! I think I'll email and fax them directly! They will be soooo sick of my reciepts....and there will be no denying it!

Make copies of ALL the receipts, place into an envelope and send as registered mail w/ signature required to his lawyer. End of story.

That way your ex cannot claim they were not sent, the lawyer cannot claim they were not received.
