Never correspond with FRO without writing down the date, the time, the persons client ID #, and their name. Keep notes on what the representative tells you.
Ask for FRO to send you a copy of your case file statement. You should review that carefully and correspond the dates and times with the statement with your paystubs, bank statements, etc.
Once you have enough conflicting information from them, with copies of bank statements, pay stubs, written documentation from what they have told you, you should immediately write a letter outlining your frustrations and their incompetence to the ombudsman office.
You should also outline all the information that you have in a letter and fax the letter to FRO with your case file # clearly marked. Then you should also sent a registered copy to FRO to the attention of your case "owner" with a cc: to the ombudsman office.
Make sure you telephone them once a week and send them requests in writing once every two weeks to rectify the situation.
I hope this helps....and I could only hope for so much that they would go after my deadbeat non payer with such furor!!!

    Just a quick update....

They claim I was in arrears for less than $500 (which I wasn't)... But they took my entire paycheque that was in the bank, The fro claims that "once the entire cheque is sent to us, we take what you owe and then send you the rest"

In the meantime i'm already racking up the bounced cheque fees....

What the hell!!! To make matters worse, they claim it could take "up to 30 days" to get the money back

  • FRO attacks me and takes double/triple and more!

I've had hell of a time with the FRO and my case... It's been going on for 10 years, but in the last 2 years they have been attacking me.

First - I wasn't the best payor when it started, I didn't have the income to pay it, and I did pay when I could.

I've been paying - for the last 3 years, but I keep getting mail saying that i'm in arrears - when i'm not, I auto-pay via the bank the money.

I was sent mail saying that they were taking my wages via my employer to pay it from now on, the call centre said to stop making the payments myself as my employer will.. So I stopped paying, my employer WAS sending it, but then 6 months later I get 2 letters in the mail at the same time

    1) your license is suspended
    2) you are XXXX in arrears.

When I call, I get told -- pay up, or no license. Our records show you havn't been paying -- BUT I HAVE!!

    This happened twice.

So I pay them -- because without a license I have no job... Coming into the 3rd time they have suspended my license... This time they suspend it, I call them, they give me crap, I tell them my employer was taking it off my pay -- as per the order YOU Sent them..

They say to me that they are not getting it... So away goes my license, I pay them - they re-instate.

Now... This AM, all my bank accounts are locked, and now my pay cheque from yesterday is pulled from my account -- the bank says they got a federal order...

I call the FRO -- they say "Not sure why, because it's up to date you are not in arrears" So they claim they will fax the bank and cancel the order -- but the bank already took my paycheque, and locked my accounts and claim the money has been sent to the FRO and it's gone and I have to ask for it back from them.

Without that cheque, i'll be kicked from my house, my car payment will bounce, right now i'm -250 in my account even if they unlock it, so i won't be able to put gas in my car to even get to work -- and work will fire me.

Add to that -- I have no cash to even get a lawyer for help - i'm feeling kinda hopeless here....

Anyone? Tips? Advice? This is really my last gasp.
