    Spousal support is a real crap shoot adding clauses about what also includes a material change is useful; lawyers are good at negotiating this. Time can be considered a material change.

    It can be forever. Or until one of you dies. Or if in the future you income and your ex's income are almost the same.

    It can be adjusted due to a change in circumstances, but unless the change in circumstances changes the financial difference between you and your ex, you are likely screwed.

    Without knowing more of your situation, it's hard to say more.
