It was a constitutional case against the Family Law Act and the child in question had a severe physical and mental disability requiring 24 hour care.

No child support. If they are working they can pay the parent living expenses. If they can�t work because of disability then they get government support.

There was a case for a disabled adult child getting extended support but that child was severely disabled and unable to work or support themself even with government assistance. It was a big case but had a lot of things that required support including ongoing respite costs.

If you have an order that states that cs ends at 21 then you stop. If you have simply been paying you stop. If you have an order with FRO or another maintenance agency then you follow up with them.

That’s interesting and surprising. I’ve googled the topic many times but was left with the impression that a disabled adult child who is unable to withdrawal from parental care is entitled to CS for life. The child in question is not severely disabled but will likely require with ongoing guidance and support that can only come with residing with the parent, but will likely be fine to work a normal work schedule.

Is the onus on the other parent to inform me or make arrangements via the court to end child support or do I have to apply to the court for it?

What is supposed to happen when the adult (21) disabled child, whose sole custody parent is receiving child support for, completes post secondary training and gets a job, but still remains at home living with the parent? Thanks
