  • Spousal Support and Child Support Calculations

    Hi There,
    I can't find any clear information about how spousal support affects child support.
    Last year my income was 101,500 and my ex-spouse had about 43,000
    I am currently paying about 9750 in spousal support annually.

    There is some argument that my income is reduced and hers is added to.

    Is child support calculated on her income of 43,000 + 9700 = 52700 and my income 101,500 - 9750 = 91750?

    We currently have 50/50 shared access and custody.

    Can anyone explain how this works?
    Thanks =)

    Nope... Gross income is used for child support.
    What you are calculating will be used for income tax deductions, but that's it
