Lawyer emphasized to me the importance of careful preparation of a budget at the start of our divorce. This little document (budget) has been examined yearly and I am, yet again, thankful for the excellent legal advice I received back in 2009 from my lawyer.

In an old post someone wrote the above. Why is this budget important going forward? I know it has something to do with spousal support. Why is it done yearly? -
IMO,is the money you will be spending to get what you are trying to get, worth it in the end? meaning if you have spent $35,000 to get $50,000 , is it worth for you to litigiate for another year and spend another $15,000 to get that $50,000 ? Meaning you spent $50,000 to get $50,000 with no guarantee that you will cover you entire costs.
