  • Should I disclose my schooling particulars to the Ex?

    HI,
My job search has been fruitless and I decided to go back to school full time.

This does not impact access or anything. I will still be collecting E.I. and paying CS based on that for the first few months.

My Ex wants to know the details even though she is very secretive about her stuff (I didn't know about he boyfriend moving in with her until I heard it from the children)

What am I abligated to do?
    What should I do?

    thanks,
    CD.

You don't need to tell her details as to your personal life.
You must prove income for the purposes of CS, and thats it.

I don't know the context of your full dispute so I can only offer a general opinion.

How does disclosing this disclosure in your matrimonial proceedings? If it doesn't impact you (as you somewhat state) then disclose it. If the other party has been avoidant with disclosure you can use Form 20 (Request for Information) to make an official request for information.

You can provide your disclosure (demonstrating you have nothing to hide) and make a request under rule 20 through form 20 and the other party can demonstrate they have nothing to hide.

Should the Form 20 go unanswered it is great evidence for a motion and you can simply attach it as an example for the failure to disclose information by the other party.

Don't fill the form 20 full of irrelevant requests. Double check the relevance prior to sending it.

      Good Luck!

If it isn't impacting anything (and you're not looking for concessions such as flexibility on visitation and need to be 'extra nice') I wouldn't give her any information not required.

(so what are you taking ? ha...)

Pffft, a lion tamer needs to be able to figure out how far to run and how fast.

I just got a real strong vibe on this one and i am just torn...... a C.A. - so you can count other people's not always hard earned money --- or perhaps could it to be one of those zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZLawyers! you know the ones that are taking all the money the hard working C.A. just spent counting for someone else!
(sorry for the zzz'z - am sorta really tired today and the boring part of counting all that money we don't have well exhausted me all out!

But as I tell all when the time is right - To believe that all work is honourable if it means putting a food over your head and roof on the table every day! The key is to get paid for it so this can happen for yourself and for your family!!

Yep. Bingo except that I think I may move into I.T. support since I really like helping people.
                      Time will tell.

So As long as it does not effect the kids/CS then my schooling is none of her business.
What if 6months down the road I will affect what I pay her?

You cannot collect EI benefits while being at school full time. You are considered not available to work.
