We have been in court for nearly a year over lowering child support due to my husband loosing his job and having to go back to school and upon graduation had a job lined up. Unfortunately due to starting over, he isn't making the same as he was making at his last job, was there 15 years. We requested that the support be lowered to reflect his new income......well, this went on for over a year actually.....in the end, the judge ordered that his ex, is to pay us a third of our court costs. She was way off and even went as far as sent a letter to the judge asking her to reconsider and then proceeded to tell her that technically she won and not us. This was never about who wins, it was about an adjustment. Anyways, she was ordered to pay us....that was last August and still nothing. We are contemplating taking her back on contempt charges, is this a waste of time? She will play the "poor me" card and "poor single mom" card also - which she did in the courts. I too was a single mom, but get a full-time job like the rest of us...working 15 hours a week doesn't cut it. Anyways, any advice?
