  • Paternity tests?

I am taking my ex to court for a variation in child support. My daughter is 18. He is requesting a paternity test! Do I really need to put my child through this? He as well as I know there is NO doubt that she is his child!

it is not really a big deal. Tell him if he wants it he has to pay for the whole thing and he has to explain to daughter why he wants it done. I think at 18 she herself can refuse to have it done.

Thanks, its not the medical part, its the emotional damage that it will do to her to even think that her father is trying to deny her to get out of paying tuition etc. I reread the info more clearly this morning and he is asking for an order. I dont' think a judge will give it to him when he has been her dad for 18 years?

It shouldn't matter whether he is the bio dad or not. If he has been acting as her father for 18 years, he IS her dad, and he will have to continue to pay. A paternity test would only cause emaotional pain for your daughter. How horrible for you both.
