Take a look at your extremely baited question. What kind of response were you looking for? Only one you wanted to hear? That kind of impatience isn't going to play well for you if you display it to your kids, in a court, to your lawyer, or to your ex, no matter how right you are.

My ex-wife was violent too and is an alcholic drug addict. And we also went through an OCL investigation where the recommendations were for sole custody for me, which is what ended up happening.

Yes it was, and yes it was. My sub nature is what got my children and I in this mess. "Make 'em happy at all costs".

Tapes? Before I left. I used an answering machine I connected in the basement because she was deleting messages from clients on our main answering machine ("Hey Peter, how come your not returning my calls?"). I also had to walk around with a voice recorder in my pocket because CAS (she also had a plan of care) didn't believe me when I told them the things she was doing. (Kids playing and laughing too loud "I'll ring their necks!" and going after them). Had my mind been in a clear state, I would have video taped it.

I've been running against that attitude ever since I left with the kids. I doubt very much that you'd say that if I was a woman. After all, it's so common for a woman to be the sober one, getting hospitalised for beatings (2) while getting the infuriated drunk off the kids. Hell... I even have HER LAWYER on tape telling her how to get around a positive drug test, and in fact how to produce a negative test. But there's WAY more I have on tape. Things like drug deals, a death threat, forged checks, post office breakins.. to mention a few. But I only had a simple question, and you don't seem to be able to answer it. So why are you chiming up?

Why is it so hard to believe that a woman could be an addict, alcoholic, and violent in the extreme when the husband refuses to cough up more dope money, or even just because you spoke.

No wonder men get killed in this country.

Please do not be so defensive, get your hostility under control. This is a friendly board. As for the comment about three sides to every story, I have heard that said many times before. There is the first parties side, the second parties side and then there is the truth. each side (man/woman) will/could embellish their story to make themselves look better. They may leave out certain details of things that they did wrong etc. It wasn't a personal attack so your response wasn't warrented. If you get this way because you do not like what someone says then do not come to a forum where people will give their opinions based on what you write. If you just want a total legal view then talk to only a lawyer.

It is not hard to believe that woman can be violent, I have seen it and yes I am a woman. So all this stuff you have against her lawyer on tape I take it you were recording her phone conversations?? Did this happen beore or after you left with the kids?

courts will keep the status quo for the most part, unless the other party comes up with some good evidence to have things changed. It is in your best interest to get your anger under control. If you get that way here then I can imagine what you would be like in a court if the judge or her lawyer says something you do not like.

How likely is a judge to adhear to the recommendations of the Office Of the Children's Lawyer? OCL says to keep Status Quo (joint/weekabout).

Party1:
Arrested (hospitalised other parent) but not charged. Alcoholism is admitted. Drug addiction is accused but denied. Caught with child shoplifting. Living with another admitted alcoholic (AA). DUI with children in care.

Party2:
Still Suffering and Scared.

It concerns me greatly that their recommendations are such that the Status Quo is to be maintained IF she goes to rehab or goes into treatment. BUT.... and get this....... her access is to be INCREASED if she does not not attend treatment or rehab. (wtf!)

They are very likely to follow what the OCL reccommends. They would only change if there was strong evidence to the contrary and if surfaced after the report.
