  • Odd difficulty in updating CS

    In short,

15 year old now living exclusively with me since January
18 year old about to move out to University

C.S. has not been updated as it's collected through the FRO.

I understand the choices to be as follows:

    1. withdraw from the FRO and we handle the offset amount ourselves (where I have the ability to give mom leeway to not pay me full pin for one child for the 8 months our older daughter is away at school)

    2. joint motion to update payments to offset amount

    3. file my own motion to update payments to offset amount

Because we are now in a shared / split parenting situation, I am not able to update the amount on-line.

    Am I missing anything here?

    Many thanks,

If you are with FRO they wont update without a new order. Your ex would need to agree to withdraw or agree to a new order.

I would advise her if she agrees to withdraw it allows her the freedom to not pay offset if you agree to that. Otherwise you will request an order for the proper support per month to be enforced accordingly.

You will need a new order when the 15yo is done school anyway so best to get started.

      Thank you,

That was pretty much my understanding. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a simpler option.

One question, when you mention a new order when the 15 year old is done school, I assume you mean when she's done highschool right?

Yes if she goes away to school then cs would change again.
