Complaint to law society/ suing a lawyer

I'd get a new lawyer and move on. You can always have the lawyer's bill assessed at a later date. Lawyers dislike the assessment process sometimes more than being complained about to the law society.

The judge chewed out both lawyers for each not following the process and commented that their behaviour was detrimental to both of their clients. Even he could see they were contributing to a good deal of the problem!!!

in your other thread you were told how to have you fees assessed.

before you try and blame the lawyer for everything, make sure that what you wanted was reasonable.

Complaint to law society/ suing a lawyer
Is filing a complaint about your lawyer the same as asking to have their fees assessed. If due to your lawyer's incompetence you suffer direct financial loss ( loss of job, homelessness, costs awarded against you) can you sue your lawyer?
These consequences may occur as a direct result of my lawyer NOT following my written instructions, not communicating going back to court as instructed, screwing up by not following the rules of the court and therefore having court adjourned, not giving the other lawyer the disclosure I have provided, etc.
Both lawyers are in a pissing contest with each other and my ex, the children and I are getting sprayed in the process!Tags: None
