  • Court staff serves documents for you?

    Hi all,

I was just reading through this document http://www.ontariocourtforms.on.ca/f...EN-rev0610.pdf
on page 8 last line it says

"If you are concerned about your safety or it
would be difficult for you to arrange service
because of cost or distance, tell court staff
and they will arrange to have the documents
    served for you."

does any one have experience with this? if it is actually true that would be mighty awesome, would save a whole bunch of trouble.

sounds like they would just find you someone to serve the documents. I am thinking you would have to pay something. Best bet is to call up.

I asked, they said yes, in extreme cases only, usually judge will consider even not serving if the person is too dangerous. etc. they didnt say what happens if rules dont allow direct service and the person who wants to serve is too poor to use courier etc.

There are companies that serve documents for under $100. Wouldn't that be easier?
