so i have served my soon to be ex with the divorce and custody application and have had zero response from him, or a lawyer my lawyer has heard nothing either? is this common?

he was served last week, he has 20 days to respond. i was just curious as to whether they wait until the 20th day, my lawyer will only accept a resonable request for adjournment only if he (my ex) starts to pay child support. -
true fair enough! haha no biggie i was just curious as to whether it happens alot and what happens should he choose to just ignore the 20 days to be difficult that was all

It is 30 days, not 20. And, while most people will serve and file their Answer within that time, it is not uncommon for it to take, for example, 35 days, which will not significantly delay matters.Comment
