    i have a question...we have been seperated and living apart for over 2 years...i have been sending all of my pay cheques to our joint account.....i have finally stopped doing that and i am going to be sending her so much a month now....and i want to sell the family home...but she refuses to sell...she wants to buy me out but has just recently got a job..she hasnt worked that much over the last 2 years.....she wants me to wait until she can....but i want to sell....what do i do...and what rights do i have after supporting her for over 2 years...how long do i have to pay spousal support and how much do i have to pay.....i feel i have done enough for her already and if she lives common law or gets married again to i have to continue paying her......please help

    welcome to the forum,

    It hard to comment on your situation without knowing all the financial facts of the situation.

    The big factor for spousal support is that one party has means and the other need.

    It appears somewhat that the other party is making a bona fide effort to become self sufficient.
