  • Uncontested??

I was just served form 8A, the notice that the ex is seeking a divorce. Surprisingly she is asking for everything I was willing to give, which to me sounds like an uncontested divorce. So what are my next steps? I sign and return the papers, and it's all over!! Will she be able to come back and get anything from me in the future? I expect to win the lottery in the very near future, and don't wanna share the exotic island I buy.

    Thanks

if you mutually agree on the division of property and assets then yes that is uncontested BUT that does not mean that is the end.......she can be entitled to your pension and anything else that was obtained for retirement purposes during the marriage. Be careful. Are there children from teh union? If so be prepared for child support, section 7 expenses, post secondary (same as if you were still married).

The kids are with me, the pension and stuff was split at The separation.
