  • Someone shoot the groundhog please........

Just a personal vent. It is April 12th for Pete's Sake and I can't see across the street for the snow blowing. I can't take it anymore. I want my bbq. I want my back deck back.

Last week the kids were making snowmen in the back yard. Tomorrow morning I will have to shovel to get out of my driveway.

    F OFF WINTER!!!!!

I woke up with no power.. and am being advised we will have no power until well after midnight tonight. Lost a big maple in my front yard last night, the crack of it splitting woke us all up at 3 am. Everything here is covered in thick ice.
Regret converting my wood fireplace to a gas fireplace.

That sucks McDreamy! Where I am, woodstoves and generators are par for the course because outages are common and nothing sucks more than having no heat in -40 degree weather.

I sure hope you get some power soon!

Kinda funny, in a sense; I make the kids walk in very cold weather but I am off to get them at school in a few minutes because the winds are so bad; they will literally blow over lol!

            McDreamy:

I don't think even Cialis is going to help that tree

              Hahha I know!
I'm going to cry if I lose this birch tree though - kiddo and I planted it about 8 years ago for Mothers Day. I'm surprised it didn't break in the middle of the night as well.
Could care less about the massive maple at the front that is destroyed (except I'm guessing it's going to cost me a couple of hundred to have it taken away).

And Monday is what -- 18?? sick.

I just looked out the window. It finally stopped snowing. I wish thought it would snow just a bit more so that it would make sense to call in the plower. Otherwise I'll either shovel or wait for it to melt.

Nice work Oink!! I'm curious though, how does your tropical banana plant thrive in Canada's 4 seasons??

You have a gorgeous garden, Oink. I love gardening, indoors and out. Also planted a banana tree indoors many moons ago, but it never bore fruit. Do you keep your elephant ears indoors in the winter too? The castor plant is so pretty!

That is so neat - a black squirrel! A big fat one at that! My cats would love it!

I've never seen a black squirrel before. I believe we only have brown ones here in Alberta.

Those big fat grey squirrels started their invasion here about 7 years ago and almost totally wiped out the red squirrels. Unlike the pretty little red squirrels, The grey ones have voracious appetites and are destructive...they even eat the spring bulbs and other valuable plants.

The elegant black squirrels are a variety of the grey squirrels or "melanistic". They are generally smaller and have a more delicate form. They are shy, unlike the grey forms.

Oh well, everyone needs to eat.

Oink...I like your mini fountain and the chickadees. They are one of my favourite birds.
