  • How to ask for extension to file responding motion

I'm down to the wire for a response to a Motion to Change and increase child support for my adult child. I went to the court to see when the Affidavit of Service was and they said they didn't have one filed and that would go in our favour. But I still need an extension to seek legal advice. What is the likelihood of getting an extension through a 14B motion do I file before the filing deadline for the motion is due? I've never done this before and would certainly appreciate some advice. Thank you.

start speaking to a lawyer now. You're lawyer will ask for an extension once they have been retained. They will need time to get up to speed with everything and file a response.
