Default Pension payments and child support

Does anyone know how this would work ?

My ex will receive aprox 40 % of my pension when I retire .

If I was to retire at age 55 , my kids would be 20 and 17 respectively .

Since I would still potentially have to pay child support for 1 or both , is the child support based on my gross monthly pension amount or the gross amount that I actually get to keep ( minus her 40 % ) or is it something else entirely ?

Janus will become famous soon enough

I would presume it is the gross that you get, which does not include her 40%.

That said, 55 is an early retirement. You have an obligation to maximize your income potential. What would be your reasons for retiring early? "I wanna have fun and enjoy life" probably won't fly.

Obviously, nobody can actually stop you from retiring, but the courts can certainly impute your regular pre-retirement income and expect you to pay support on those numbers.
