  • State's role in creating fatherless families

A very politically incorrect video attesting to the state's role in creating fatherless families:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI88CzghGGs

It gets interesting around minute 5:00.

    Discussion, anyone?

    Its a common theme..

It's a common theme in the Father's Rights movement.

I'm not sure if the "great conspiracy" is plausible.. But it is usually attributed to why Socialist Governments support Feminism.

A study of political and social changes since the 1960's would show that feminism rose up to correct many wrongs that had persisted in society up to that point (primarily a lack of equality for women).

I would attribute our current social and political climate more to the success of the feminist movement, rather than to the "great conspiracy" that somehow western governments are all conspiring to remove fathers from families.

In the mission to bring equality between the sexes, we have reached a trubulent point where our society is challenged in how to respond, what does it mean to be a father, a mother, a family?

Okay, this is the second video from them that has been recommended to us, and I have to say, that website is the most anti-woman, anti-government skewed perspective on anything I have seen in some time.

Do you honestly believe these videos are anything more than one organization's bitter vitriol? It's very easy to promote your point when you only interview and present evidence from one side. Just throw in some pop culture references and say it in a British accent and everybody assumes it's coming from a legitimate, reliable source.

The narrator had a British accent so it must be true.

You say that it is easy when you promote from your point of view....but isn't that how Feminism was started and worked? Now the "movement" seems to be starting to possibly work towards fathers, now that tactic/tool is an issue? I think if it worked and was okay for one group, why not another?

I thought it to be very interesting, and not just around the 5 minute mark, but also found it equally interesting are the comments made by my fellow species, that, if I am not mistaken have been successful in court against the mother. Unfortunately these examples of success are too few and between. In my opinion the vast majority of men at least on this site, that have been through and trampled on by our family court system would most likely agree with most of what that video had to say.

I know I can at least say from my experience...the family law system is riddled with bias towards men, any many judges (usually male) judges are too afraid to disrupt the 'status quo'. What is puzzling, is that any successes that I've had in gaining access to my children has been through female judges? And I know from numerous conversations with fellow fathers that I am not alone with this experience.

              The Struggle Continues!
