  • splitting up

My girlfriend and I bought a farm property together in April of 2004 (I paid an initial large lump sum, she was paying mortgage). I lived elsewhere for the first 6 months, then moved in for the next 15 months. Upon sale of property, am I tied into the first 6 months mortgage payments? We've split everything else down the middle after moving in, except for added renovations which I only paid for. Thanks.

I still believe it will be split in 2 if the mortgage is in your name, no matter who paid it.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I do believe your right, everything in your name is split in two. So unfortunatly you are tied into those 6 months.
