  • Will my spouse be required to work

    Hello,
I am on ODSP, my fiance and I would like to move in together. Do you know if ODSP will require him to work? He has a pretty serve panic disorder, but does not want to go through the hassle of trying to get on disability himself, but regradless for his panic disoder, if he was someone who was healthy would he still be required to work, that's the way we would like this question answered, just incase he is unable to get proof of his panic disorder.
    Thank you so much

I'd hope he is getting treatment (counselling, meds) for his disorder, just like you would for any other illness. So, there should be no problem getting a note indicating his inability to work at this time.

how is he supporting himself now?? Cant seem to find out out much but they do take into account the partners income. Cant see them being too agreeable to paying you full amount when he is not working or on some type of social program himself

Do yourself a huge favour and get a cohabitation agreement done to prevent any problems in the future.

He has a disability so I honestly don't think so. Don't people live together anymore before marriage or am I old-fashioned?

You're totally old fashioned, that is so '70s. These days people have relationships through text messaging and rarely live in the same city.
